Making a reservation
When making a reservation an initial deposit of 25% is required to secure your lodge, payment can be made by cheque (made payable to G&E Haggart), bank transfer, or any one of the major credit cards. Your deposit should reach us within 3 days of booking unless otherwise agreed, with the outstanding balance to be settled at least six weeks prior to your arrival date. Telephone bookings are accepted pending receipt of the deposit and completed booking form (click here to download the booking form). Should the initial deposit not reach us within 3 days, the booking may be cancelled. Only when the payment has been cleared through the banking system will the booking be confirmed.
Arrivals & Departures
Please make your way to Bailielands Farm on arrival where you will be welcomed and taken to your lodge. All late arrivals should be notified in advance.
Entry time is 4pm. Your lodge should be vacated by 10am on the day of departure unless otherwise agreed by the owners.
Damages and Loss
Lodges are inspected for damage or loss, before and after each let.
Please make sure the lodge is left clean and tidy on departure and the keys returned to Bailielands Farm. Any damages or loss should be reported prior to departure and may be charged in full against the lead guest and/or person making the booking. Property left in an untidy or inappropriate manner will be subject to an additional cleaning charge. A refundable damage/cleaning deposit may be asked for on occasions, the owners will notify guests on booking if this is required.
No pets are allowed on the premises.
Mountwood lodges have a strict non-smoking policy indoors.
The maximum number of people to reside in or use the facilities of each lodge must not exceed the number stated on the booking form unless the owner has given explicit permission in writing prior to arrival.All guests must be named and listed on the booking form
No Caravans or Campers.
Clients are recommended to take out a Holiday Insurance policy as well as curtailment insurance and cancellation insurance to cover any loss or damage to personal property. Vehicles and their contents are left at the owners own risk.The clients use of the hot tubs is at their own risk and inline with hot-tub rules displayed in writing inside each lodge. The proprietors will accept no responsibility for any damage or injury through no fault of their own.
If it is necessary to cancel your stay for any reason we must be notified by telephone immediately. Cancellation must be confirmed in writing within 5 days. In the event of any cancellation we will make every effort to re-let the property so that you will be reimbursed in full. However, if it is not possible to re-let the property you will be liable for these additional costs;
Each booking is made in good faith with the belief that the lodge will be available to the client on the date stated in the booking. If for any reason due to circumstances out with our control the lodge is not available we are unable to guarantee provision of alternative accommodation. In the event of this happening the deposit and balance will be refunded in full and the client will have no further claim against the proprietor.
